Seeking inspiration from the form and monumental scale of raw sandstone quarry blocks, this bespoke modernist interior pays homage to the clients migrant heritage of stone quarrying. With Living zones positioned over four levels gaining access to light and views, the quality of the interior spaces generates an emotive response that somehow embodies that of a bespoke art gallery except where the artwork has been replaced by the organic patterns of stone.
The dynamic external geometry of the home is expressed within the interior space where angular, textural patterns in the spirit of the quarry stone block metaphor infuse both the material application and interior planning of each of the spaces. The interiors are meticulously detailed echoing the disciplined architectural palette of zinc paneling, black granite, articulated slotted windows, angular walls and contrasting smooth and quarry drill faced stone textures complimented by a bespoke furniture composition.
