The bohemian brand developed for the new Planet Books store in the inner city Perth suburb of Mt Lawley sought to compliment Planet’s long standing and very successful cult video store outlet. With inspiration sought from “tea chest” packaging, a simple and very cost effective form of book racking and box display system was developed. The concept of a box and the way in which a box could be manipulated, stacked, pulled down and re-arranged became the catalyst for a space that provided an ever-changing canvas and endless possibilities for on-going display. Inserted within a newly built space, the interior setting remains in a raw construction state with an absence of finish. The insertion of contemporary furniture settings create pockets in which to sit, kick back and browse.
